Gratitude Challenge: Day 3

I have decided to spend the month of November focusing on thankfulness. To help me with this challenge, I signed up to receive a daily prompt from the Day One journal app, encouraging me to write about something I am thankful for. I will, of course, aim to pair the daily journal entry with a photo.

Here is today’s prompt:

What are three things I’m grateful for to, no matter how small?

I was thinking about this question while I was out on my morning run. I came up with many answers. I could obviously list my wife (which I have one of) or my kids (which I have five of). I could list the roof over my head, the food on our table, or the coffee in my cup. I thought about listing my shoes… I do love shoes. I thought about listing my bibles… I am incredibly thankful for the word of God.

In the end, I decided to take a photo of three guitars that I currently have hanging in my studio.

I am so thankful for music. God was very kind to us when He created music.

I love playing guitar. I love playing for fun, for therapy, to learn, to challenge myself, and even to encourage or entertain others. The gift of being able to play guitar, and of working hard to get better at playing guitar, has brought me countless hours of joy.

Thank you, God, for the gift of music.
