Gratitude Challenge: Day 4

I have decided to spend the month of November focusing on thankfulness. To help me with this challenge, I signed up to receive a daily prompt from the Day One journal app, encouraging me to write about something I am thankful for. I will, of course, aim to pair the daily journal entry with a photo.

Here is today’s prompt:

What do I appreciate about myself?

I will admit that today’s challenge has been the hardest one, yet. By a lot.

What do I appreciate about myself? Hmm. I don’t typically stop to think about things like that.

I think I am going to say it is my ability to roll with what is going on.

I have definitely been (correctly) accused of being a perfectionist. I tend to hold myself to a high standard. I also like to make plans and organize my thoughts to maximize my time and effectiveness. Still, I believe that I am largely able to see obstacles as opportunities. When the waitress brings the wrong food, or the barista gives me the wrong drink, I tend to consider that as an opportunity to try something new, rather than demand what I originally ordered. That’s just me. Not that it would be wrong to ask for what I originally ordered, but I tend to like the adventure.

This weekend I am speaking at a youth retreat with my buddy, Scott Price. Talk about an adventure!! Haha. Being a full-time musicianary has definitely been an adventure–one in which I often have to just roll with the circumstances.

Apparently the camp was full this week, and there were not enough beds for me and Scott. So we are rocking the “Party Camper” at the back of the parking lot.

Perfect. Let’s roll with it…
