10k October (Day Two)

Today I ran the same route as I had previously run on May 30. I am happy to say that I haveimproved a bit from my previous run.

On May 30 I ran from my driveway to Jodi’s parents’ driveway, which was exactly 8.6 miles. It took me 1:09:07 to get there, which was an average pace of 8:03 per mile.

Today I ran the same route in 1:04:04, which was an average pace of 7:29 per mile. Yay for progress!

One interesting thing about today’s run was the fact that I was running neck-in-neck with an Amish buggy for about 6 miles. It was kind of funny. They had me on the straightaways and destroyed me going downhill, but sure enough, I would keep passing them again heading back uphill.

I would burn up a hill and leave them behind, but then not long afterwards I would hear the clippity-clop of the horse and get passed again.

In the end, they pulled into a driveway about 100 feet in front of me, so I would say they won the race.

Oh well. Maybe next time…
