Wednesday Evening

What a great night!

The outreach in Denver was super fun. We had a lot of great Gospel Conversations and met a lot of great people. It would be cool if the Youth would share their own stories in the comments below, but for me I ended up downloading Pokemon Go and using it as an outreach tool. It was super easy to strike up a conversation with people who were playing the game (which was a LOT of people). 

After the outreach we had a delightful dinner and went into the evening session. We heard testimonies from the outreach and it was awesome to hear about students leading people into a relationship with Christ. God is so good! 

We also heard from internationals who are at Lead THE Cause and were challenged to pray for them as they bring the Gospel back to their own nations. We were also challenged to pray about whether or not God is asking us, personally, to take a leap of faith and go into the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

The message we ended with tonight was a reminder of how God is constantly pursuing us with His great love, and how we (in response to His great love) should be pursuing others with the love of Christ and the message of eternal life. 

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

We love because he first loved us. – 1 John 4:19

We ended the night as a Youth Group talking about what God did today and what He was teaching us. Then the Youth had to walk through the Hug Gauntlet before they could leave the room. It was epic. 

I love these students and I love seeing them going all in for the cause of Christ. The joy and excitement is tangible and beautiful. I pray that they will not let it die when they get back home -no “jumper cable Christianity”! 

God, let us remain plugged in to you, shining the bright light of Your love to all that we come in contact with here, back home, and wherever You lead us for the rest of our lives.
