Photos from Safari 2023
Yesterday I wrote about our first three lion sightings while on safari in Kenya. Today I want to share our other lion sighting experiences from our time in the Masai Mara.
Yesterday I wrote about our first three lion sightings while on safari in Kenya. Today I want to share our other lion sighting experiences from our time in the Masai Mara.
We were lucky enough to experience five different lion sightings while on safari in Kenya.
Beware the Ides of March!
Arguably the coolest of the “Big 5” is the lion. For some reason lions stand above other animals as the most powerful, the most scary, the most majestic, etc.
On the second day of our game drive we found another family of elephants, and they were every bit as majestic as the first.
The second animal of the “Big 5” that we saw was elephants. Let’s be real. Elephants are awesome!
We are finally getting into the “Big 5”! Although, to be fair, we didn’t see two of the Big 5… so I will (sadly) only be showing you the “Big 3”.
I was really happy to see a cheetah while on safari because it is our youngest daughter’s favorite animal. We were lucky enough to spot two of them.
Even more plentifully scattered across the African plains of the Masai Mara than zebras are impalas.
We did not see many wildebeest while we were on Safari in the Masai Mara. We did see this guy, though…
After driving through an area filled with zebras and spotting a few warthogs, we saw one of the most interesting animals on the planet… a giraffe.
The second exotic animal that we saw while on safari was a warthog. It was difficult to resist the urge to call out, “Pumba!” But seeing a warthog in the wild also served as a great reminder to live with no worries.
Zebras were the first animals we saw when we entered the Masai Mara National Reserve—and we saw plenty of them. Somehow, though, it never got old.
One last photo from our camp in Kenya before I show pictures from our actual safari…
God is an amazing Creator.
Today’s photo from our safari in Kenya features our beloved “Home, Sweet Home.”
