Photo Every Day 2025 – Christmas List

Last year I tried something new for the month of December, leading up to Christmas Day, and I thought it was fun enough to try again this year. I have complied another list of 25 photos I want to take and post in December. (There are quite a few repeat items from last year, but a few fun new ones, as well.) Each day I will attempt to cross one of the items off of the list. Let’s see how the challenge goes this year…

Today’s photo: A Festive Forced Perspective

I would like to get better at this, because these kinds of photos are kind of fun. I couldn’t quite get the settings correct, but this was my best attempt at a festive forced perspective.

Elijah loves these Ferrero Rocher chocolates. One of his sisters must have found a REALLY BIG one to get him this year for Christmas! Good luck, buddy. Don’t eat it all at once!

(In case you are reading this and think the chocolate is actually that big, it’s not. A forced perspective photo uses optical illusions, manipulating an object’s perceived size or distance by playing with camera angles, placement, and distance to trick the viewer’s eye, making small things seem huge or far-away objects appear close. I took this photo with a larger-than-normal Ferrero Rocher chocolate about 10 inches from my lens, and Elijah was about 10 feet from my lens. That is what creates the optical illusion.)
