Another one down! State #26 is finished. (Officially over halfway to my goal of #50by50.)

The Publix Atlanta Marathon (Atlanta, GA) was awesome!!

Jodi has offered to run one marathon per year with me until I reach my goal of running a marathon in each state by age 50. (If that is not true love, I don’t know what is!) Atlanta was the race we decided to run together for 2025. I love it when she runs with me, and she ran REALLY well! My legs were still a bit sore from last week’s marathon in Jackson, MS, but I was able to keep up with her pretty well.

If you are ever looking to run a well-organized, highly supported race in a major city, this is definitely one to consider. I loved the course. There were ample cheer sections, thousands of volunteers, and we never really left the city for the entire 26.2 miles.

As a huge added bonus, our kids were at the race to cheer us on the whole way. And… what an awesome surprise… a buddy of mine who lives about 45 minutes away showed up to cheer us on at the finish line. I didn’t take the photo below, but some nice lady offered to take it of me, Jodi, our kids, and my buddy JP at the finish line area.
