Photo Every Day 2024

Yesterday I mentioned that we drove by a pasture full of “lambs and sheep”. You may have wondered to yourself (or perhaps you are wondering now), “What is the difference between a lamb and a sheep”?

Great question!

Lambs are basically just baby sheep. For the first year of their lives, baby sheep are called lambs. After 12 months, it would be more precise to refer to them as sheep. But if you want to get even more precise than that, adult females are technically referred to as ewes, and adult males are called rams.

These curious little cuties would definitely be lambs.
