Music Video Thursday – Brilliant Light

We have been putting on the JPM 5k & Musik Fest for 9 years. This year will be the 10th annual JPM 5k & Musik Fest! That is incredible. Twice now, we have had the privilege of bringing Tim Timmons to perform at the Musik Fest. I love Tim! He is an amazing man of God and an awesome singer / songwriter.

Last time that Tim performed at our Musik Fest, we had a bit of time together in the morning, before the event, so we went and ran the 5k course together, and then we sat down and started writing a song. The song that came out of that session was called “Brilliant Light”.

Tim has battled with cancer for years. It hasn’t defined who he is-He lets God define who he is, but it has definitely been a big part of his life. Cancer can certainly feel like a dark cloud, but Jesus is a brilliant light.

At the time that we wrote this song, we had no idea that my wife would walk through a dark cloud of her own. She spent a little over a year fighting depression and other forms of emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual attacks. This song became an anthem for her, reminding her of the brilliant light of Jesus when all she could see was darkness and shadows.

I hope that this song is a blessing to you, as well. Whatever you happen to be walking through right now, look to Jesus, the light of the world.
