#5kMay2019 Day 26 (BLOG)

Hello, Virginia!

I woke up this morning in beautiful Harrisonburg, Virginia. I was asked to lead worship and preach at New Beginnings Church today, and will be playing music tomorrow night at the Steve Wingfield Memorial Day Celebration.

Fellow Polen Band member and faithful #5kMay2019 participant, Mark Rowe, is here with me, so we got our 5k in together this morning. I may have pushed him a little harder than he is used to, but he rocked it. We ran 3.1 miles in 27 minutes and 40 seconds, which was an average pace of 8:08 per mile.

We ended up running through the fairgrounds where we will be playing tomorrow night, and then by the church where we were going to be leading worship and I was preaching. It really was a beautiful morning and a fun run!

It was a full day after that! We set up and led worship at the church, then I preached, then we enjoyed a lunch with the typical worship team at the church. It was good to get to know them a little bit. The plan is for me to come back at a later date to do a full worship team training at their church.

I also received an invitation from John Schmid, who is also in the area for the Memorial Day Celebration, to join him in playing music at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. So I joined him and played lead guitar! #GoodTimes! I will be playing electric guitar for him tomorrow night at the fairgrounds. I always enjoy playing with John.

I was reminded again today of the fact that Satan wants to kill us, steal from us, and destroy us. Jesus came so that we can have life!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

(John 10:10, ESV)
