Merry Christmas Craziness

On Christmas Day 2016 our family recorded a fun little video to email out to friends, family members, and ministry supporters to simply wish them a “Merry Christmas!” Our kids really enjoyed recording the video, and we received quite a bit of positive feedback from many who watched it. So… we decided to do another video this year for Christmas Day 2017.

It started out as a simple idea, really. We just wanted to add a touch of brightness to Christmas Day, so we were going to sing a song together and wish everyone watching a “Merry Christmas!”

But that wasn’t good enough for the Polen kids… they wanted to add motions and other Christmas goodness. Fair enough. That sounded like fun to me, and they were more than happy to do it. So we practiced a little bit and decided to do it LIVE on Facebook.

After a full week of eager anticipation of Christmas goodness, and after two full days of celebrating the birth of our Savior with church family, immediate family, and extended family (at multiple locations), and minus any Christmas naps, and against our better judgement, we set up and pushed the button to go LIVE.

Needless to say, it did not go exactly as planned. We had a few minor issues, but the end result was a fun, authentic look inside the Polen family, and a heartfelt “Merry Christmas” from our (crazy) house to yours!

In less than 24 hours the video had hit 2,000 views and it currently sits at 3,600. Some people have asked me about it, but they couldn’t find it, so I am posting it here for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy! Merry Christmas!
