Whistling Pines 112 (Update #1)

Last year I ran in the Whistling Pines 112 mile relay race. It was super fun! Our team won first place. Here we go again!

The weather is less than awesome this year, but you’ll have that. It has been raining all morning, and it is SLICK!

Our team is not the same as last year, but we are hoping to be competitive. I think we have a chance at winning, but we’ll have to run really well.

Each loop is 6.2 miles (10k). There are six runners per team, so we will all run 3 loops. I just finished my first leg. I was slipping everywhere and my hopes of finishing in 45 minutes slipped away from me. I finished my first loop in 47:50. I am cold, wet, muddy, and tired.

Now it’s time to stand by the fire and cheer on my teammates. I will probably run again around 2 or 3pm. Hopefully I can warm up by then!

Who signs up for things like this?!
