Photo Every Day 2026

Every time I have the privilege of leading worship in the Bolthouse Chapel at Lake Ann Camp, I look up and see this cross. It’s mounted right in the window frames, so the trees, the sky, and the lake all show through behind it.

I love the story in the wood. Hand-selected pieces from several different nations were glued together and then shaped into one piece. Look close and you can see the different colors and grains. From the platform, it just reads as one cross.

Different nations, one Savior.

Then there is the shape itself. To me it looks like the hand of God reaching down toward people humble enough to reach up. Perhaps that is exactly what the artist had in mind. I don’t know.

This cross never feels quite like decoration. It feels like the room is already preaching before anyone says a word.
