Photos from India 2026

One super fun thing we did while in India was drive to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. Wow! I can see why it was named one of the 7 New Wonders of the World! This ivory-white marble mausoleum was commissioned in 1631 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

I didn’t realize that there were other mausoleums on the same property. They were constructed for his other wives. The other mausoleums are not nearly as big, and not nearly as impressive as the Taj Mahal. But then again, those other ones were not for his “favorite” wife, now were they?! Haha.

One very funny thing that kept happening to us at the Taj Mahal is that parents kept putting their children and babies in the hands of my daughters. They desperately wanted photos of their kids with my daughters. For whatever reason, we were like some sort of celebrities…
