Photo Every Day 2026
Well… today was the day. I didn’t want to do it, but I ran out of ways to talk Jodi out of doing it.
It seems that my bride, the love of my life, desires to take our Christmas tree down as soon as we possibly can after December 25. Preferably for her, we would take it down on January 1. As for me, I would prefer to leave it up as long as possible.
This week she wanted to take it down, but I was able to remind her that we were scheduled to provide music for a Christmas banquet on Friday night. “We can’t take down the tree before the banquet…” I told her. “I’m afraid I will lose my Christmas spirit if we do!”
Apparently my argument was at least moderately persuasive. She was so kind as to allow the tree to stay up for the Friday night Christmas banquet. Now here we are on Saturday, and the tree is down. Christmas is officially over in the Polen household. (#SadDay)
So here is a picture of where the Polen family Christmas tree used to be. (At least it has been replaced by a guitar.)
What about you? When does your family take down the Christmas tree?
