While I was walking around Mt. Charleston, about 40 miles northwest of Las Vegas, I found myself being quite intrigued by the vegetation. In Las Vegas there are palm trees, cacti, and other small bushes and flowers, but nothing like this! Who knew that not far from the city you can find massive pine trees-and even snow?! Mt. Charleston is home to a rather robust area for skiing?!
