Photo Every Day 2025

Yesterday I posted a very similar photo, but the three cords attached to the cross had not yet been tied together. Today it only felt right to post a photo of the finished product.

For the past couple of weeks I have been working in the studio on a secret project for the groom. He wanted to record a special song that would play while he and his bride tied these three cords together. As far as the bride knew, I would be singing the song live while they did this (I played all of the other music for the wedding, and I pretended that I would be playing the song during the rehearsal). When that special moment came during the actual wedding, the music started and the couple began to tie the cords together in a symbolic act of unity with one another and with Christ. There was a powerful, precious moment when the bride heard the song and realized what was happening, that her husband had taken the time to thoughtfully record himself playing and singing the song. She was overwhelmed with emotion and began to cry as he held her and explained what was going on.

The moment was apparently a very well-kept secret. No one in the bridal party, nor in the congregation, seemed to fully understand what was going on. Then one by one people started to realize the significance of what they were witnessing, and they passed that information on to their neighbor. It was rather amusing for me to watch all of this happening in real time.

I thought the whole thing was incredibly sweet and meaningful.
