Photo Every Day 2025

Twenty years ago Jodi and I were Discipleship Training School students with YWAM Nashville. Joining YWAM (Youth With A Mission) was one of the best decisions we ever made. While with YWAM, we went to the Southeastern Conference, where several YWAM bases in the southeastern region of the United States came together to worship, learn, and fellowship. It was awesome! I remember being super blessed by the guy who led worship at the event.

Fast-forward to tonight. I was asked to set up a sound system for a guy who was leading worship at the house of a family who just lost their husband / father. Our friend, Ryan Thompson, tragically suffered a heart attack this past Monday night. He was only 46 years old (and he is absolutely in the presence of Jesus right now!)! Sadly, he left behind a wonderful wife and three awesome kids. Ryan was also a YWAMer, and one of his good friends from his time at YWAM Orlando was none other than… the guy who led worship at the Southeastern Conference in 2005!

I wish it had been under different circumstances, but it was super cool to reconnect with a guy who made a big impact on my life 20 years ago.
