While at the eXperience Jesus conference at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, the students were challenged to write down the names of friends and family members that they are praying for, whom they want to share the gospel with.

Obviously it is up to every individual to decide whether or not they choose to put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, but it is up to us to make sure every individual has a chance to at least hear the gospel!

Last night the students hung these names on a net and we prayed for each person that the names represent. Tonight the students were challenged to actually call a friend and share the gospel with them. MANY of the people who were called put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation!

One student who faithfully took the bold step of calling a friend and sharing the gospel with them said that this is what their friend said on the other end of the phone:

“I know we talked about this a lot at school, and this summer I came to a point where I decided I am either all-in or not in at all… so I asked God for a sign that I should go all-in. Then you called. I’m all in! I want to Follow Christ!”

How awesome is that?! Between God’s prompting and this student’s faithfulness, the gospel has transformed another life!

So what is this gospel message that is going forth and transforming lives? I think the simplest way to express the full story of the gospel is through the G.O.S.P.E.L. acrostic that was developed by Greg Stier and Dare 2 Share:

G – God created us to be with Him

O – Our sins separate us from God

S – Sins cannot be removed by good deeds

P – Paying the price for sins, Jesus died and rose again

E – Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life

L – Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever!
