I remember digging the hole, placing this tree in the ground, and diligently watering it to make sure that it survived. This tree was a gift from a family member, given to us not long after we moved in to this home that we built. I must be getting old, because this tree is now huge, and I just love watching it grow year after year.

When we first planted this tree, I could easily wrap my hand around the trunk. Not any more.
