Photo Every Day 2024

THANK YOU to everyone who joined me in praying for Piper over the weekend. I sure appreciated it, and I know that she did, too.

I know that prayer is not like a vending machine. You can’t just put in your order and get exactly what you asked for. That’s not how prayer works, and that is certainly not how God works. Still, as people of God, we are invited to let our requests be made known to God. He cares about what we care about. Even more, He cares about us! Sometimes He uses our prayers not so much to change our circumstances, but to change us in the midst of our circumstances.

I love this passage from Philippians 4:

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4–7, ESV, emphasis added)

If I could be so bold as to ask, would you please join me again in praying for our oldest daughter, Taylor. Tomorrow morning she will be having four wisdom teeth removed! (I can already hear the dad jokes about how she will no longer be as wise…)

We are expecting that everything will go well, but I would still appreciate any prayers you can send her way. She is an amazing young woman with such a big heart for God and a bright future ahead of her. I am praying for a smooth surgery and a quick, full recovery (and for her to maintain all of her wisdom, even with the absence of her wisdom teeth…)
