I would say that Piper has run super well this year for being a freshman. But the truth is, she ran very well this year, period. She is a very strong runner. This was not her best race, but she ran hard, as always. It would be interesting to see how well she could compete in cross country if she concentrated fully on the sport, instead of splitting her time between cross country and soccer. But we’ll likely never know, because she loves both.
