Photo Every Day 2024

I have taken a lot of bad photos. Like, a LOT. Most of them get looked at once and then deleted. But for some reason this terrible photo kept getting my attention, and I couldn’t bring myself to delete it.

It’s really not a great photo. The net of the back of the of goal is crisp and clear, while the action on the field is blurry. Not a great photo.

Still… for some reason I kept looking at this photo and thinking about perspective.

It is amazing how blurry and confusing the most important things in life can be when you fix your eyes on the wrong things. However, when we fix our eyes on the things that really matter, the little things that could otherwise distract and hinder us somehow seem to disappear.

I wanted to share this photo today because even though it is not a good photo, every time that I look at it I am reminded of the words of Hebrews 12:1-2.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1–2, ESV)
