I am planning on completing as many hours as possible on the 25th, don’t have the training built up to go the distance but I’ll see how my body holds up!

So far I have been reminded how awesome the body is and how it adapts to what I put it through, it is indeed an amazing creation. Spiritually, I am being reminded how our loving and available our Father in heaven is and how much he cares. Praying through living less distracted and living fully for his kingdom not this world.

  250. 1. I faithfully walked 13 days, until my Physical Therapist said, “no more walking.” That was hard for me…when I set a goal, I make sure I finish strong. This spring has been an eye-opener to me. So to answer that question, I absolutely WANT to finish the competition, I just physically can’t 😭😭😭😭😭.
    2. I’m sore…but it’s not from the challenge…it’s from a previous injury that’s keeping me from physical activity.
    3. Unfortunately I will not be able to finish the challenge this time which is a big bummer because I’ve done it the past couple years.
    4. I am not participating in the Bible challenge…maybe I’ll finish by doing that portion of the challenge 🤗
    5. I was participating in the photo challenge! It was a fun and creative way to add to the walk!
    6. I won’t participate in the mayhem challenge
    7. God has taught me SO MUCH through the past 6 weeks…I’ve learned that my plans aren’t always God’s plans, and if I don’t take time to rest, God will find a way to make me rest 😂.

    3. That’s the goal

  254. 1. Day 1-8 perfect, missed 3 days completely and other days only did 1.5 to 2 miles

    2. How are you feeling? Fantastic, happy accomplished and pleasantly surprised at the Many unintentional benefits

    3. Technically I’ve failed I think but if perfection isn’t required then yes I plan to keep at it either way.

    4. No

    5. I’m doing occasional photos in the phote challenge. The ones that I personally think are fun or attainable.

    6. Maybe I’m not sure what it is.

    7. Ive learned that the happiest and politest people on earth are the ones I pass by when walking. I’ve learned that the world opens up to you when you get out of the house and go walk somewhere. I’ve learned that it’s a great way to connect with my family. I’m happier when I walk everyday.

And it’s okay to not be perfect, just keep going.

  255. 1. Yes, I have!
    2. Great! I’m proud of myself for intentionally walking everyday.
    3. Yes I am!

5.) I have done a few pictures but not a lot.
    6.) I haven’t completely decided, but I don’t think I will be at the 5k.
7.) I needed this more than I realized. It was put into perspective that you can call for God and He will be there for you always, but He isn’t going to stop the storm in that moment. That is exactly what I needed to hear.

    I will definitely be finishing.
I haven’t been listening to the podcast or anything else on these walks. Enjoying the scenery.
I have done some of the photo challenges. Been posting a pic each day though.

    No

Do you plan to participate in the (optional) #5kMayhem BONUS challenge on Saturday, May 25?

During this time, it has also given me a great time to reflect on what the “image of God” is. Run time has given me time to realize the joy of treating his image well physically while also fueling his image spiritually so it can be a blessing to other images. Love God! Love others!

Finding joy in discomfort can lead to meaningful change.

  434. I am still in this race! I’ve gotten out and about every day so far (with a few being well after the sun’s gone down).

I’m hurting. My knees aren’t what they were last year and last year they were already pretty bad! But I’m in this to the end. Mind over matter and whatever doesn’t kill me just hurts a lot…

My plan is to see this through. I mean, I’ve gotten halfway already so it’s all downhill from here, right? Except maybe that one spot in my neighborhood that the hill is daunting no matter which direction you take it.

The only optional challenge I’m participating in is the daily Bible reading but I’m not listening to the podcasts or anything.

God is keeping me going. It would’ve been real easy to quit in the first week when my pain was high and my motivation was low. I talked with God every walk. And you know what? His grace is sufficient. I’ll keep asking for these thorns to be removed, but He has me and gives me focus.

    On to the finish!

    7. I have learned that I am capable of doing more than I sometimes think I can do. There are some days I don’t think I have the energy to complete the 5K and then I surprise myself and do even more miles and steps than that on my nightly walk or run.

    7. This challenge has been so good, but in reflecting briefly on it completing the daily challenge is like reading The Bible and spending time with God. If I make it a priority in the morning it is so much more life giving and less burdensome. If I wait to walk/run after a long day at work it is so much more difficult. I find it true of my Jesus time too. It has been a good reminder and discipline that has aided my practice of spending time with Him too. So thank you Jeff and praise God for His goodness working through you!
