Photo Every Day 2024
Last week we did something as a family that I don’t think we have ever done before… we went on an actual vacation with just our family.
It was awesome!
Don’t get me wrong, we have traveled together A LOT! We have been blessed to see much of the country throughout the years. But we have never taken the time to do a non-extended family, non-ministry related, non-marathon trip.
This trip was just about investing in our relationships as a family, and having fun.
And we had fun!
We spent several days in Orlando, FL at the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures theme parks. I had personally visited the parks multiple times on my own (once when I was given free admission from the guys at the Youth Pastor Summit, once when I was in town for a ministry trip, and once with Polen Band while we were leading worship for a Youth 4 Christ event in Fruitland Park, FL). Each time that I have been to Universal, I had a great time… but I always thought to myself, “My kids would LOVE this!!”
So I had a goal of getting the whole family to Universal for a fun getaway, and we finally had the opportunity to do it! I should point out that I brought my camera, but I didn’t get it out of the bag for the first several days. I just wanted to enjoy the moment, not see it from behind a lens. But then, for our last couple of hours inside the theme parks, I had my camera (and my tripod) and I took some photos that I think are pretty fun.
For the next couple of weeks, leading up to the 5k Every Day in the Month of May 2024 challenge, I’ll be dripping photos from that last couple of hours of our trip one day at a time.
Here is the first photo, from the entrance of the Universal Studios theme park.
