Photo Every Day 2024

Keeping with the black & white theme, and continuing with my series of photos of hands on instruments… here is a photo of Elijah’s hands on his very own electric bass guitar.

This guy has become a practice machine! Several years ago I bought a Taylor GS Mini acoustic bass guitar to hang in the studio and have available for quickly working out bass lines. Elijah LOVED that thing and wanted to play it, so I taught him a few things on the bass guitar.

After we gave away a Fender bass guitar at the JPM 5k & Musik Fest one year, he decided that he wanted his own electric bass guitar. So I told him I would help him buy his own electric bass guitar if he practiced for 20 minutes per day for 100 days.

He did it!

That white Fender P Bass is pretty awesome, and he is getting pretty great at playing it!

Of course, it also warms my heart to know that more times than not he is practicing or learning a Coldplay song… what a great sound to have filling the house!
