Photo Every Day 2024

Keeping with the black & white theme, and continuing with my series of photos of hands on instruments… here is a photo of Abigail’s hands on her trusty ukulele.

Abigail has always kind of marched to the beat of her own drum. She likes to do her own thing. While our other kids showed interest in more “normal” instruments (like guitars and violins), she chose, instead, to devote herself to becoming an incredible ukulele player. (An ukulelist?!)

She helped me lead worship at a coffee shop a couple of weeks ago, and it was awesome! She is a great ukulele player, a fantastic vocalist, and just an overall wonderful person. I always love it when she is willing to play music with me.

It really is amazing how much the ukulele adds when someone is skillfully playing it. To be fair to Abigail, she also plays piano… and she is REALLY good at piano. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get her to play piano with me when I am leading worship… but thankfully she is willing to (at least occasionally) join me on the ukulele.
