Photo Every Day 2024
This year I am starting a new challenge. Two times per week I am wanting to get out and “Ruck”. I saw one of my friends post about “Prayer Rucking” near the end of 2023, and I reached out to him to find out more about it. I decided to add rucking to my fitness goals for 2024. I think rucking offers three specific benefits for me, personally (as well as many other benefits that can be found all over the internet).
For me, rucking will help me to slow down and spend intentional time in prayer. This is definitely the biggest benefit! I do pray a lot while I am running, but I also get more distracted when running than I do when rucking.
As a runner, I think rucking will help build my core and back muscles. It is amazing how light I feel when I take the backpack off. Right now I am rucking around with a 20 pound plate in my backpack, but next week I will add 10 more pounds, and I am trying to work myself up to 50 pounds.
The third benefit that rucking offers to me, personally, is the ability to bring a camera with me. This is the photo that I took tonight while on Ruck #4.
