Photos from Safari 2023

I hope you have enjoyed my photos from Safari 2023. I sure enjoyed taking them! I do hope to get back some day. 

As I wrap up photos from that trip, I’ll leave you with three days of bird photos. 

This first photo was, I thought, very fitting.

Off in the distance we saw a dying tree. Perched in the tree was a committee of vultures. 

Committee?!

Apparently.

From what I understand, the term for a group of vultures depends on where they are and what they are doing. The generic term would be a flock of vultures, but if they are flying in formation they are a kettle of vultures. If they are feeding, they are a wake of vultures. But when they are resting in a tree or on the ground, they are a committee of vultures.

Who knew?!
