Favorite Photos of 2022

One year ago today Jodi and I ran the Houston Chevron Marathon. It was the 50th anniversary for the marathon, and Jodi’s second marathon ever. This selfie was taken near the finish line.

Several years ago I declared that I wanted to run a marathon in all 50 states by the age of 50. Part of the joy of setting this goal was knowing that I would actually get to see all 50 states, and hopefully would be able to bring my family along to as many states as possible. I was hoping that Jodi would be able to travel with me for at least the majority of the states, but I didn’t realize she would actually lace up her shoes and run with me for some of them!

Her first marathon was in Baltimore, MD in October of 2021. Just a few months later and she was running with me again in Houston, TX in January of 2022. She shaved more than 15 minutes off of her finish time from Baltimore.

She is amazing!

Jodi has set a goal for herself of joining me for at least one marathon each year until I have completed my goal of #50by50. 

Next on the list: Charlottesville, VA on April 1, 2023 (and no, this is not an April Fool’s Day joke).
