#MidweekWorshipConnection | S3E7

This past weekend I had the privilege of leading worship at a Youth Retreat in Vermillion, OH. There were a little more than one hundred students who were fired up about Jesus.

On Friday night I shared the gospel and talked about the importance of every follower of Christ recognizing that Jesus is the only KING worthy of our full submission, that King Jesus has given us the greatest CAUSE to devote our lives to (namely, the great commission), and that we need to surround ourselves with a CREW that will encourage and challenge us as we give our lives to King Jesus and commit ourselves to His cause.

On Saturday, as a part of the overall retreat, we participated in Dare 2 Share LIVE, which was an amazing event that was happening in Denver, CO, and broadcast live around the country and around the world. During the Dare 2 Share LIVE portion of the retreat, students were trained how to share their faith, and then we sent them out into the streets to actually pray for people, engage in gospel conversations, and give people and opportunity to put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

It was awesome!

There were more than a thousand churches participating in Dare 2 Share LIVE, and communities all over the country (and in several different countries) were hearing about the good news of Jesus Christ! How awesome is that?

For anyone who heard the gospel and put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation for the first time, we always try to pray with them and either stay connected with them ourselves, or try to connect them to a thriving local church. But not everyone is immediately willing to stay connected, or get connected. That is a real bummer, and a missed opportunity for them, because if they put their faith in Christ but choose to NOT connect themselves to a thriving local church, then they will have the right KING, but will likely struggle to devote themselves to the right CAUSE, and will probably not get connected to the right CREW.

But… that shouldn’t keep us from sharing the gospel and rejoicing when people put their faith in Christ!

We are not the ones who do the initial saving, and we are not the ones who do the continued saving. That work is done by God alone.

I love what the Apostle Paul says about what can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord:

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38–39, ESV

For those of us who have put our faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, NOTHING can separate us from Him.

How awesome is that?!

We don’t have to earn His love. He offers it freely to anyone who will accept that Jesus died for our sins so that we could be brought into a right relationship with God.

We don’t have to earn His love, and we cannot lose His love. No matter who you are or what you have done, the God who saved you from eternity in hell through His work on the cross is the same God who will save you from walking through hell on earth today, tomorrow, and always.

If you have never put your faith in Jesus Christ alone for eternal salvation, what is keeping you from doing it right now?

If you HAVE put your faith in Jesus Christ alone for eternal salvation, rejoice! Nothing can separate you from His love.

So why not surround yourself with a CREW that is committed to the CAUSE of telling others about this amazing KING Jesus, who wants to save them today, tomorrow, and always, as well?
