Mount of Olives (for the last time) #SonlifeIsrael2017
We made one last visit to the Mount of Olives, this time in a slightly different location (remember that the Mount of Olives is more of a range of peaks and not necessarily a single peak, like we tend to think of in America).
From this location we opened our Bibles and took a look at the Great Commission, the Ascension, and Jesus’ promised second coming.
We were reminded that the Great Commission is a co-mission. It is not a solo mission! We are called to make disciples! Jesus promised that as we make disciples he will be with us always, to the very end of the age. He has work for us to do, but it is meant to be done with him, not just for him.
As we thought about the second coming, we were reminded that no one knows the day or the hour. Only the Father knows. This fact makes it abundantly clear (to me at least) that the emphasis is not at all on when, but on what. He is coming back! Our job is to be faithful, to be diligent, to be fruitful, and to be ready.
