Just outside of the main gate of Old Jerusalem there is a large tower that would have been a likely place for Pontius Pilate to question Jesus. It would also have been a jail of sorts.
Underneath the fortress is a large cistern. We went down to check it out and were baptized by the incessant dripping from above.
Probably the most interesting part of the world underneath was an original Roman road, still in tact.
From here we follow the Via Dolorosa -the path Jesus walked with the cross to Golgotha.
