We Live (for the Glory of God)

An upbeat worship song calling the church to sing out in response to the matchless love of God displayed in the work of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This song works well with multiple lead vocalists.

Lyrics:
If the God of the universe is for us
If the Spirit of the Lord is with us
If the Son has come to save us
How can we keep from singing?

If the God of the universe is for us
If the Spirit of the Lord is with us
If the Son has come to save us
How can we keep from singing?

We are, we are the children of God
We know, we know the love of our Father
Lift your voices! Lift your hands up!
We live, we live for the glory of God

If the Father has His arms stretched towards us
And the Spirit is alive within us
If the Son is praying over us
How can we keep from singing?

If the Father has His arms stretched towards us
And the Spirit is alive within us
If the Son is praying over us
How can we keep from singing!?

We are, we are the children of God
We know, we know the love of our Father
Lift your voices! Lift your hands up!
We live, we live for the glory of God

Rise up, oh church!
Rise up and sing!
Rise up, oh church!
Rise up and sing!

We are, we are the children of God
We know, we know the love of our Father
Lift your voices! Lift your hands up!
We live, we live for the glory of God

Jeff’s Song Story: The SongWriter’s Guild wrote this song in response to a prayer time in which Rocky Favia prayed something along the lines of, “If the God of the universe is for us, how can we keep from singing?!” Immediately following the prayer time, we started thinking about the many reasons we have for celebrating the fact that we are children of the most high God. It just seems right to lift our voices, lift our hands up, and declare that we live for the glory of God.

We believe that the act of singing has profound spiritual significance in the heart of God. Throughout the Bible, and especially in the book of Psalms, we are encouraged (dare I say commanded) to sing to the LORD.
