2~ Yes! I’m feeling amazing! I couldn’t run a 5K and the start of 5K May. Now I ran two in one day and felt great!
3~ Yes! I listen to the podcast every day and love it
4~ No. but did run 2 5K’s thanks to your encouragement and felt great afterwards!
5~ The podcasts have been fantastic throughout the month and your commentary has brought it to life and given a better understanding of the 3 Gospels. It’s made me want to dig deeper and get into the word more and become a stronger follower of Christ. Not just a guy who calls himself a Christian, but one who shows he’s one. Thanks for all your hard work in preparing the podcasts!

I’ve listened to some of the blogs.
I did not participate in the Mayham challenge.
The 5k everyday challenge has really taught me discipline and has gotten me in a healthy habit of getting out daily.

Have you kept yourself in the challenge by walking and / or running at least 3.1 miles every day so far in May 2021? If so, how are you feeling by now? Yes! I am feeling much more in shape than beginning of May.

Are you doing the optional challenge of reading 3 chapters of scripture per day? If so, are you doing it on your own or through the #JPM5kMay podcast? I started this, but I actually did not keep up with it like I hoped to.

Did you attempt the optional #5kMayhem challenge? If so, how far did you get and how did you feel afterwards? No way man.

What is one thing that you have been learning about yourself, about Jesus, or about life during this challenge? It is hard to get going some days.. but the discipline and feeling of accomplishment is always greater in the short and long term both. This applies for many areas of life and growth. Also God is super powerful and good to me because I know I didn’t do this on my own strength!!

    1. Eric Stewart
    2. Yes Still feeling good!!!
    3. No
    4. No … but did get at 25k trail run in yesterday!
    5. This body can do a lot more than the mind thinks it can!!

  4. 1. Michael Sullivan
    2. I’m still in it.
3.I have been listening to the podcasts.
    4. Completed the Mayhem challenge. I’m pooped.
    5. God gave us all more strength than we can wrap our minds around. He’s involved in our lives, but in a round-about way. In the mayhem when I wanted to quit (walk the final 5k) he provided me with the knowledge of what to do to be able to run the last one. All I had to do was step up and do it. He really did take care of handling getting my body feeling ok enough to give it a go. After #11, I was just plain done, cooked, mentally and physically finished. Why did he care about my silly 12th 5k? Because he’s God and he can. He can care about all things from the most petty to the extremely important, and he can do that all at once.

  5. What is your name? Stephanie howell

    3. Yes, I’ve missed a few days reading but have read more this month than ever and really enjoyed the quiet time.
    4. No I did not.
    5. I think the thing God has shown me through this challenge, is that you can complete something even when you feel like you can’t. I hated missing two days because of sickness but I am committed to log the miles and will not allow that to steal my joy!

    • Name Sam LaMar

Still in it. Legs are just starting to feel heavy. The first hours in the morning are tough to get them moving.

Missed some of the podcasts but I hope they remain up to listen to.

No, life got in the way. Poor planning on my part.

We may go through struggles but it helps make us stronger.

  8. My name is Catgi have been reading scripture on my own but not every day. I didn’t do the challenge. I learned that I can push through blisters on the feet 😇. I will be 65 in September and this is the longest stretch I have ever done 5k’s consecutively. Thank you for the challenge.

Yes, except for the one day in an elliptical (that I didn’t know was not allowed until like day 7 podcast) that Jeff said he’d extend to me grace. And to be quite honest, this week has really sucked!! My feet feet like they made of cinder blocks and I swear my legs weight 100 lbs each.
Are you doing the optional challenge of reading 3 chapters of scripture per day? If so, are you doing it on your own or through the #JPM5kMay podcast? Yes the podcast has been great!!!!

Did you attempt the optional #5kMayhem challenge? If so, how far did you get and how did you feel afterwards?

Yes but I have my own Bible plan that im doing

Unfortunately, I did not participate in the Mayhem

What I have learned is resting in God’s beauty…there is so much beauty in His creation that a lot of times we get so busy with life and life’s turmoil and business that we don’t take time to look at the gift He has given us through His creation.

  27. Kelly Kuzma

I didn’t try the Mayhem but I thought about all of you doing it yesterday and I am in awe of the fact it can be done. Good job to all of you who did it or even some of it.
I have learned that I do much better listening to the podcast than reading myself, I have been in a place for the last year where it seems reading the bible on my own I get one answer and 10 more questions. It’s nice to hear your comments on what is being read.

  59. Rebekah Zook
I have kept up with the daily 5K challenge. I feel ok, but it seems that switching my focus to daily short runs has made it more difficult to get in any long runs. Also, I can tell my body is missing the rest days that are usually planned into my week.
I have not kept up with the scripture reading challenge.
I was not able to attempt the Mayhem challenge.

Through the podcast it has stuck me more this year that while the story is the same the way it is told can be different and details can be different too. This allows more people to be reached by the gospel – as certain ways of telling stories reach different people.

Plus just the fact that if you put your mind to something you will be able to do with Gods help. I wasn’t a runner and I hated running. But since the beginning of the month I have lost like 12 pounds and ran a PR of 28.17 which never in my life have I got close to that. So I’m thankful for the ones that talked me into this.

Mayhem? Yes. I was able to do all twelve laps but the last two where hard (it hurt).
Life is about so much more…. than me. It’s easy to become so consumed with the challenge

    5. Life is very busy, especially these last two weeks of May. I may not have time for this next year. We’ll see. This challenge, unfortunately, has become more about just trying to get it done rather than fun or working toward achieving fitness or running goals. My kids come first and they are keeping me very busy.

Are you doing the optional challenge of reading 3 chapters of scripture per day? If so, are you doing it on your own or through the #JPM5kMay podcast? No. No. We did our own Bible study.

Did you attempt the optional #5kMayhem challenge? If so, how far did you get and how did you feel afterwards? No.

What is one thing that you have been learning about yourself, about Jesus, or about life during this challenge?

To trust Jesus to help my friends.

  214. Allison Dougherty
I have done a 5k everyday thus far.
I have not been reading the scripture passages or participate in Mayhem, sadly.
God has been showing me that I have a wrong perspective on who He is and what He’s like. He’s been showing me a little of who He is this month and… That my strength comes from Him😁
Thanks so much for this challenge Jeff, it has been really encouraging!

  217. Mike Schlabach

Yes, I have run a 5K every day. Feeling great.

For the most part I have been following along with the podcasts for the scripture readings.

I attempted a 4.2 mile version of the mayhem rather than a 5k every hour. Made it through 8 hours and 33.6 miles. It was much more difficult with the extra 1.1 miles every hour.
